Sabah Intellectual Tours - 5 Days

Meet arrival, depart to Mari-Mari Cultural Village. Upon arrive, you assemble you will be briefed on the Village Rules…the Dos & the Dons. As you enter through the suspension bridge, you will be fascinated with the sight of a river flowing.

**Visit each tribe traditional house and do some in house activities and stopover at demo. Huts.

** There will be a Welcome Ceremony at one of the tribe houses.

Then proceed for cultural performance. After the performance, you will be led to the Dining Hall. You may leisure around for about 15 mins. To shop, take photos or just relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Enjoy delectable traditional and fusion cuisines for lunch OR high tea OR dinner before the end of the tour. Time to bid a primordial farewell to the village. Depart ONE BORNEO hyper mall to enjoy a shopping here.

Lunch : Mari-Mari Local Style Buffet

Depart for lunch and 3 hours City Tour. Visit the Sabah highest building – Yayasan Sabah (now known as Menara Tun Mustapha), Chinese Temple, City Mosque, Seafood Market, Cocoa Boutique, Filipino Market.

Tea time break at Fook Yuen Kopitiam (famous “Roti Kahwin” and Teh C’ or Kopi C’) by own expenses. After lunch continue roughly 2 hours’ journey travel to south of Kota Kinabalu to the town of Weston.

Along the way, the beach of Kinarut and Papar offers the chance to purchase fresh dried anchovies and shrimps from roadside stalls. Arrive at river side lodge for tea break before joining the boat cruise in search of the wonderful wildlife of Sabah. Keep your eyes peeled for the proboscis monkeys, egrets, eagles, macaques and even crocodiles, fireflies. Return to the lodge for a simple dinner Return to Kota Kinabalu by 21:30 and check in to city hotel for the night.

Depart from the hotel to Jesselton jetty. On arrival at jetty, board boat for a 20 minute ride to one of the beautiful island – Sapi Island of Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. You can enjoy swimming or snorkeling in the crystal clear water along the white sandy beach to explore the tropical marine life. Optional water sports such as parasailing, banana boat, jet skiing, kayaking, Sea Walking etc also available at the island. Or just laze around the beach soaking the tropical sun. BBQ lunch will be provided.

Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu in the afternoon. Proceed to Tanjung Aru Beach for sunset (depending on the weather), you can enjoy a seafood meal or hawker meal here.

Lunch : Sapi Isand Buffet BBQ

Depart from the hotel. The journey takes roughly 2 hours’ drive through scenic countryside and beautiful mountain range. A brief stop at Nabalu Market gives you the opportunity to buy local handicrafts and local fruits. Another 1 hour drives through mountainous range to reach Poring Hot Springs. A 20 minutes hike is needed to reach the Treetop Canopy Walkway. Experience the height of 41 meters from the forest’s floor and the length of 157.6 meters. Take a bird’s eye view of the rainforest.

After the rainforest walk, Take a dip in the outdoor Japanese style bathtub which the sulphuric hot water believed to have medicinal value to your skin. Return to Kundasang, Sabah’s vegetables growing valley.

Then continue to the Desa Cattle farm, this rolling green meadows stretching as far as to the foothill of Mount Kinabalu is home to dairy cattle’s offering a fantastic view. Proceed to Kinabalu Park and learn the values that kept in all the types of plants, trees and flowers for the local community while being amazed with the plants diversity that the park has to offer. Transfer back to Kota Kinabalu.
