Overview

Batam Island is an island in the Riau Islands province of Indonesia. It is part of Batam City, the largest city in the province, which primarily encompasses Batam Island and several nearby small islands. According to tourists, “Batam Island” is Indonesia’s second largest tourist destination after Bali. It is not only known as the “Little Bali,” but also regarded as an authentic “Little Maldives.” Additionally, Batam Island is a duty-free port, located just a 40-minute boat ride from Singapore. Locals from Singapore are very keen on visiting Batam Island for shopping and leisure on weekends.
