Overview
Gunung Ledang Johor National Park, established in 2005, safeguards the unique mountain, its flora, and fauna, covering 8,611.9 hectares across the Ledang massif. This pristine tropical rainforest doubles as a crucial water source for both Johor and Melaka. It’s a sought-after destination for climbers, with 15,000 to 20,000 annual attempts to conquer the challenging 1,276-meter-high peak. The summit, although reachable in half a day, presents a formidable climb. Those who reach the top are rewarded with breathtaking 360-degree views of the plains, weather permitting.
The park’s main entrance, also known as Taman Hutan Lagenda, is located at the mountain’s southern base, near Sagil town in Tangkak district. Beyond mountain climbing, visitors can enjoy leisurely activities like picnics and riverfront camping. It’s an ideal spot for families, school groups, and company outings. Accommodation options range from chalets and dormitories to jungle huts and campsites, with group packages offering activities like obstacle courses, paintball, and nature walks.
