Today take your own flight to Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon, which is often referred to as the “Paris of the East.” Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city in Vietnam. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by our professional tour guide, who will take you to visit the War Remnants Museum. This museum displays shocking images from the Vietnam War, various weapons, chemical agents, and different types of warplanes and cannons. Next, visit the Reunification Palace, originally known as Norodom Palace, which was founded in 1868. After the French forces were defeated in the Battle of Dien Bien Phu in 1954, Norodom Palace was handed over to the South Vietnamese Prime Minister Ngo Dinh Diem and was renamed the Independence Palace. Continue to visit the Cholon Chinatown area, where generations of Chinese people have settled. This bustling Chinatown is filled with countless small family businesses. After breakfast, take a journey (approximately two hours) to My Tho City, which is 75 kilometers away from Ho Chi Minh City. Along the way, enjoy the lush green rice fields on both sides of the road as you pass through the suburban and Mekong Delta areas. Upon arrival in My Tho, board a small boat to cruise on the Mekong River and visit Thoi Son Island and a fruit orchard. Here, visitors can taste fresh local fruits, longan honey tea, and coconut candies, while enjoying a performance of traditional Vietnamese folk music. For lunch, savor My Tho’s famous dishes, including “Vietnamese-style deep-fried elephant ear fish” and “dinosaur egg.” After lunch, return to Ho Chi Minh City to visit the Saigon Central Post Office, a building with a strong French architectural style that was constructed between 1886 and 1891. Then, visit the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon, a landmark of Ho Chi Minh City. The cathedral was built by the French between 1877 and 1883 and is named for its red brick exterior. After breakfast, drive to Tay Ninh Ba Den Mountain (Ba Den Mountain) tourism area, the highest mountain in southern Vietnam, the symbol of the land of Tay Ninh people. After arriving, tourists go to the cable car station and take the cable car to Van Son Peak. Tay Bo Da Son statue stands majestically on the top of the mountain. Once set the record of “Asia’s highest mountaintop bronze Buddha statue”. After lunch, return to Ho Chi Minh City to visit Ben Thanh Market.
